Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) [India], May 16:<\/strong> Building on the successful launch of its pioneering executive education initiative in public\u00a0policy and\u00a0leadership, XLRI \u2013 Xavier School of Management\u00a0has\u00a0commenced\u00a0admissions for\u00a0the second batch of its flagship Public Policy & Sustainable Leadership (PPSL) programme.<\/p>\n

Launched in collaboration with the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Government of India,\u00a0PPSL,\u00a0the one-year hybrid executive programme,\u00a0has emerged as a distinctive interdisciplinary platform bringing together policymakers, administrators, academicians, development professionals,\u00a0sustainability practitioners, and professionals from the private sector\u00a0under one academic ecosystem.\u00a0One of the unique elements of the programme\u00a0is the\u00a0eclectic\u00a0class mix comprising both government-sponsored candidates and self-sponsored candidates.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The inaugural cohort includes\u00a0officers from the Government of India\u00a0(IAS, IPS, IFoS, and\u00a0State Civil Service officers)\u00a0and various state governments, senior professionals from UN Women, PSI India, Council on Energy, Environment & Water (CEEW), PCI India, IBM Research Labs,\u00a0and\u00a0academicians from public administration institutes.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0180-hour\u00a0programme has been carefully designed to accommodate working professionals through a hybrid delivery format combining\u00a0two short\u00a0immersive campus residencies with interactive online sessions\u00a0held on Sundays. It offers a multidisciplinary curriculum covering public policy,\u00a0public finance, public management,\u00a0public systems,\u00a0governance,\u00a0sustainability,\u00a0leadership, stakeholder engagement,\u00a0business strategies & non-market strategies,\u00a0and emerging developmental challenges.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the programme\u2019s\u00a0relevance and\u00a0impact, Prof. Kalyan Bhaskar, Associate Professor, XLRI and Programme Director of PPSL, stated:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe PPSL programme reflects XLRI\u2019s larger vision of creating responsible leadership at the intersection of\u00a0public policy,\u00a0governance,\u00a0civil society,\u00a0and public value creation. The diversity of the participants enriches\u00a0classroom discussions,\u00a0peer learning, and enables meaningful dialogue between administration, academia, development sector, and industry.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

With increasing complexities in\u00a0public policy,\u00a0governance, sustainability transitions, and public administration, the programme aims to create a new generation of leaders capable of designing inclusive, ethical, and evidence-driven solutions for society.<\/p>\n

The second batch is expected to further strengthen the programme\u2019s relevance by fostering collaborative learning among officers, practitioners, and professionals working across public systems and developmental institutions.<\/p>\n

The last date for application is 18th August 2026. The program commences on 18th September 2026 with the inaugural campus component at XLRI Jamshedpur.<\/p>\n
