Jamshedpur<\/strong> (Jharkhand) [India], July 15:<\/strong> XCITE (XLRI Council for Innovation, Technology & Entrepreneurship), the Rural Business Incubator<\/em><\/strong> established at XLRI \u2013 Xavier School of Management<\/em><\/strong> with the support of NABARD<\/em><\/strong>, has announced the launch of applications for its first incubation cohort<\/em><\/strong>, inviting aspiring entrepreneurs from across 12 Eastern and North-Eastern states of India<\/em><\/strong> to build sustainable, high-impact rural enterprises<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The incubation programme is open to entrepreneurs from Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura<\/em><\/strong>. XCITE seeks to identify and nurture innovative ventures<\/em><\/strong> that address rural challenges<\/em><\/strong> while creating sustainable livelihoods<\/em><\/strong> and contributing to inclusive economic growth<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The incubator places special emphasis on women-led and tribal-led enterprises<\/em><\/strong>, as well as ventures operating in sectors such as agriculture, off-farm livelihoods, Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP), handicrafts, rural services, sustainability, green energy, circular economy<\/em><\/strong>, and other rural livelihood domains<\/em><\/strong>. The programme aims to support enterprises that are market-driven, scalable<\/em><\/strong>, and capable of generating long-term social and economic impact<\/em><\/strong> within rural communities.<\/p>\n

Selected entrepreneurs will participate in a six-month hybrid incubation programme<\/em><\/strong>, comprising virtual mentoring sessions<\/em><\/strong> and immersive on-campus bootcamps<\/em><\/strong> at XLRI, Jamshedpur<\/em><\/strong>. Participants will receive grant support of up to \u20b95 lakh<\/em><\/strong>, along with structured mentorship<\/em><\/strong> from domain experts, business model development support<\/em><\/strong>, market access guidance<\/em><\/strong>, investor and ecosystem linkages<\/em><\/strong>, peer learning opportunities<\/em><\/strong>, and access to the extensive networks of XLRI and NABARD<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Ravish Vasan, CEO, XCITE<\/em><\/strong>, said:<\/p>\n
