{"id":108544,"date":"2026-07-16T06:38:32","date_gmt":"2026-07-16T06:38:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/indianweekend.in\/index.php\/2026\/07\/16\/xlris-xcite-opens-applications-for-its-first-rural-business-incubation-cohort\/"},"modified":"2026-07-16T06:38:32","modified_gmt":"2026-07-16T06:38:32","slug":"xlris-xcite-opens-applications-for-its-first-rural-business-incubation-cohort","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indianweekend.in\/index.php\/2026\/07\/16\/xlris-xcite-opens-applications-for-its-first-rural-business-incubation-cohort\/","title":{"rendered":"XLRI\u2019s XCITE Opens Applications for Its First Rural Business Incubation Cohort"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Jamshedpur<\/strong> <strong>(Jharkhand) [India], July 15:<\/strong> XCITE (XLRI Council for Innovation, Technology &amp; Entrepreneurship), the <strong><em>Rural Business Incubator<\/em><\/strong> established at <strong><em>XLRI \u2013 Xavier School of Management<\/em><\/strong> with the support of <strong><em>NABARD<\/em><\/strong>, has announced the launch of applications for its <strong><em>first incubation cohort<\/em><\/strong>, inviting aspiring entrepreneurs from across <strong><em>12 Eastern and North-Eastern states of India<\/em><\/strong> to build <strong><em>sustainable, high-impact rural enterprises<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incubation programme is open to entrepreneurs from <strong><em>Jharkhand, Bihar, Odisha, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, and Tripura<\/em><\/strong>. XCITE seeks to identify and nurture <strong><em>innovative ventures<\/em><\/strong> that address <strong><em>rural challenges<\/em><\/strong> while creating <strong><em>sustainable livelihoods<\/em><\/strong> and contributing to <strong><em>inclusive economic growth<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incubator places <strong><em>special emphasis on women-led and tribal-led enterprises<\/em><\/strong>, as well as ventures operating in sectors such as <strong><em>agriculture, off-farm livelihoods, Non-Timber Forest Produce (NTFP), handicrafts, rural services, sustainability, green energy, circular economy<\/em><\/strong>, and other <strong><em>rural livelihood domains<\/em><\/strong>. The programme aims to support enterprises that are <strong><em>market-driven, scalable<\/em><\/strong>, and capable of generating <strong><em>long-term social and economic impact<\/em><\/strong> within rural communities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Selected entrepreneurs will participate in a <strong><em>six-month hybrid incubation programme<\/em><\/strong>, comprising <strong><em>virtual mentoring sessions<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>immersive on-campus bootcamps<\/em><\/strong> at <strong><em>XLRI, Jamshedpur<\/em><\/strong>.
