MIT India’s IES 2026 Concludes in New Delhi

New Delhi [India], October 27: Bringing together voices from education, industry, government and entrepreneurship, MIT India’s Industry Institute Engagement Summit (IES) 2026 concluded in New Delhi, reinforcing the importance of stronger links between academic learning, industry needs and emerging opportunities for India’s workforce and innovation ecosystem. The summit reflected MIT India’s continued commitment to fostering such collaborations, under the leadership of MIT India’s Group Director Mr. Digvijay Karad.

Held at Radisson Blu Plaza, the summit provided a national platform for stakeholders to exchange perspectives on the changing world of work, the role of technology in shaping talent requirements, and the need for closer collaboration between educational institutions and industry. The discussions also explored how stronger institutional partnerships can help prepare students and professionals for evolving business and workforce demands.

A key highlight of the summit was its focus on advancing the education–employability agenda through leadership dialogue and institutional collaboration. The two panel discussions examined building culture in an AI-driven workplace and establishing the foundations for future-ready organisations, addressing the evolving imperatives of workforce transformation, talent development and organisational leadership. The programme also featured the HR Leadership Awards, recognising distinguished contributions to people leadership, organisational excellence and workplace transformation, with 40 HR Leadership Awards outlined in the summit framework.

The summit also convened two invitation-only Round Tables, bringing together senior representatives from industry, government, academia, entrepreneurship and investment to deliberate on leadership development and capability building, and organisational culture in the age of AI. Structured around problem identification, strategic discussion, recommendations and action ownership, the sessions focused on identifying priorities for leadership effectiveness, strengthening organisational capabilities and enabling businesses to navigate AI-driven transformation. The discussions reinforced the importance of translating cross-sector dialogue into actionable priorities and collaborative pathways for long-term organisational growth.

Alongside these deliberations, IES 2026 placed student innovation and applied problem-solving at the forefront through the MIT India National Level Hackathon Grand Finale. Bringing together 37 Engineering and Design teams, the finale showcased solutions to industry-sourced problem statements, evaluated by a panel of 15 judges. The winners in the Engineering and Design categories received ₹2 lakh and ₹1 lakh in prize money, respectively, recognising their innovative capabilities and underscoring the value of translating academic knowledge into practical, industry-relevant solutions.

Complementing this showcase of emerging talent, the MIT India Capital Nexus Grand Finale convened 16 startups and 6 investors, bringing entrepreneurial ventures and investment stakeholders together on a national platform. The engagement centred on fostering connections across the startup and investment ecosystem, creating opportunities for dialogue around enterprise growth, investment readiness and potential strategic partnerships. Together, the two platforms reinforced IES 2026’s commitment to advancing student innovation and strengthening engagement between entrepreneurship, industry and investment.

IES 2026 brought together 200+ delegates representing organisations across education, industry, government, entrepreneurship and investment, creating a national platform for leadership dialogue, institutional collaboration and innovation. The summit featured 2 leadership panel discussions, 2 invitation-only Round Tables, 40 HR Leadership Awards, and dedicated platforms for student innovation and entrepreneurial engagement. Through these interconnected initiatives, MIT India advanced a collaborative agenda focused on strengthening industry–institution partnerships, developing future-ready talent and creating opportunities for innovation and enterprise growth.

Mr. Digvijay Karad, Group Director, MIT India said “IES 2026 has brought together diverse stakeholders to strengthen the connections between industry, academia, entrepreneurship and talent. As industries and workforce needs continue to evolve, such collaboration is essential to turning ideas into practical outcomes and building a future-ready ecosystem.
